Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We design all of our heat pump systems to work with your existing central heating system. In most cases there will be no alterations to underfloor heating however, if you have radiators, we may need to increase the sizes of them.

This is all covered as part of our free Heat Loss Survey of your home.

The heat pumps we install run at a maximum decibel rating of 55dB. This is about as noisy as a gas boiler flue should you stand near to it when a boiler runs.

We ensure that noise levels are kept low by installing the heat pump on the ground where possible to avoid noise transference into brickwork. All heat pump installations must pass the MCS standard MCS020. This is calculated during our free Heat Loss survey of your home.

Heat pumps run on electricity which is around 3.5 times more expensive than gas. However, the heat pumps are approximately 3.6 times more efficient than gas so in most cases, heat pumps cost less to run than a gas boiler.

We work with you to determine if you will get a saving ahead of any installation to ensure you have all the information you need to make the right choice for you and your home.

Yes. The current grant scheme is called the Boiler Upgrade Scheme. We take all the stress out of the application process and complete it on your behalf. The BUS scheme offers £5,000 towards the cost of a heat pump installation and is covered by OFGEM at the final invoice stage.

To have a successful application the heat pump must be a whole house solution for all of your hot water and central heating requirements. Your home also needs to have an EPC that is less than 10 years old. This EPC must not have any recommendations for loft or cavity wall insulation. You can check your EPC by visiting https://www.gov.uk/find-energy-certificate
